GENERAL ENGLISH

Our teaching team are experienced, enthusiastic professionals who believe in “student-centred” teaching. This means that each student has the opportunity to maximise his or her potential. We encourage students to express themselves freely and to transfer theory into practice in realistic situations, and learn about British culture at the same time. Our goal is that each lesson must be effective, stimulating and enjoyable. Through experience we have found that this is the best way to learn and improve.Our goal is to ensure that you make good progress during your course at Mayflower college.

These courses concentrate on improving your confidence, fluency and accuracy in using all aspects of the language including:

A comprehensive coverage of grammar

Authentic listening and reading exercises

Group communication exercises

Expansion of vocabulary including phrasal verbs and idioms

Pronunciation & intonation

Each week in morning classes we focus on a new topic, with a number of goals for each lesson including vocabulary and grammar.  At the end of the week there is a test on these, which will help you and your teachers to see how much you have learned.
