Completing this course will:

• Increase your organization’s levels of compliance by ensuring you are familiar with the rules
• Minimise risk to you and your organization through unwitting non-compliance
• Increase your confidence to engage and discuss the regulation with the UK MAA, the
• Technical Airworthiness Authority (TAA), the Delivery Team (DT) and Defence Equipment& Support (DE&S)
• Save time and improve efficiency in your business by introducing ‘best practice’

Key areas of focus:

• The UK MAA set-up and its publications impacting Design Organizations
• The intent of the DOAS system and the roles of the various DO interfacing organizations
• Details of RA5850 (as well as the referenced RA1014)
• Differences to EASA Part 21 and/or EMAR 21
• Setting yourself up not only to comply with the MAA RAs, but to do business internationally.
• The challenges and opportunities inherent in the composition of the Design Organization’s Exposition (DOE)


Is this course right for me?

Although there are no prerequisites for this course, experience of working in a Design Organization is highly desirable. Individuals in the following positions would benefit from a comprehensive understanding on how DAOS influences their daily responsibilities:
• Head of Design
• Office of Airworthiness (incl. Certification Managers)
• Compliance Verification Engineers
• Independent System Monitors (incl. Quality Assurance)
• Design Managers and Team Leaders
• Design and Test personnel preparing qualification data


Course details

Course format: This course is a balanced mix of group discussions, flipchart work and PowerPoint presentations. Managed syndicate exercises give you the opportunity to practise the application and evaluation of new processes and techniques.
Course level: Practitioner Level Training (P) is suitable for those who have worked in the subject for some time, are familiar with core terminologies and concepts and are looking to develop or update their level of knowledge and practical understanding.
Assessment process: No formal assessment. Formative feedback is provided by the facilitator.
Course size: 16 persons maximum at our Aviation Safety Academy or on-site at your facility
