EASA PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE (PPL)

The EASA Private Pilot Licence (PPL) enables you to fly throughout Europe and take passengers with you. Whether you fancy a simple sightseeing flight in the local area or a weekend in France, the PPL covers all these options.

The Private Pilot Licence can be an achievement in itself or used as a stepping stone to further commercial licences and a career as a pilot.

PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE PRIVILEGES AND CONDITIONS
(a) The privileges of the holder of a PPL (A) are to act without remuneration as a Pilot in Command (PIC) or co-pilot on aeroplanes or engaged in non-commercial operations.

(b) Notwithstanding the paragraph above, the holder of a PPL (A) with instructor or examiner privileges may receive remuneration.
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
(a) Applicants for a PPL (A) shall have completed at least 45 hours of flight instruction in aeroplanes including at least:

(1) 25 hours of dual flight instruction; and

(2) 10 hours of supervised solo flight time, including at least 5 hours of solo cross-country flight time with at least 1 cross-country flight of at least 270 km (150 NM), during which full stop landings at 2 aerodromes different from the aerodrome of departure shall be made.
 
THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE EXAMINATIONS
There are 9 subjects which, with one to one tuition or self-study, are readily attainable. The one to one tuition is part of our package and highly recommended. Alternatively you can do them by self-study if this is more convenient for you. All ground exams will be undertaken at Go Fly Oxford, before which your experienced, well-qualified instructor will make sure you are ready for the exams.
