IR Course Overview
Instrument Rating (IR) refers to the qualifications that a pilot must have in order to fly under IFR (Instrument Flight Rules). The Instrument Rating (IR) can be added to either a Private Pilot Licence (PPL) or a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL). Skies Aviation Academy offers an extremely competitive and comprehensive route to a Multi-Engine Piston (MEP) Instrument Rating. Course is provided from our well-equipped aviation academy. Candidates who are going to apply for an airline must pass the IR Skill Test on a Multi-Engine aircraft.
Pre Entry Requirements:
Applicants must hold valid PPL or CPL Licence with minimum 50 Hours as Pilot in Command (PIC)
Night Rating
ΙR or ATPL Theory
Medical certificate relevant to licence*
*Aviation Medical Examination is one day process and can be taken at our base with EASA aviation medical doctor
Course Structure
Option 1:
For PPL holders - 55 Hours IR Flight Training
• 40 hours Simulator
• 15 Hours ME
Option 2:
For CPL holders - 45 Hours IR Flight Training
• 30 hours Simulator
• 15 hours ME
Duration: 4 to 6 weeks
