IRI(A) Instrument Rating Instructor

The course IRI (A) - Instrument Rating Instructor aims to qualify you as an instructor for training in instrument flight. Our experienced flight instructors will provide you with the knowledge you need to pass on your knowledge of instrument flying in the aircraft and simulator to your students. The FI (A) -IR / IRI (A) course focuses on deepening the procedures described in the IFR Training Manual.

The introduction into the cockpit, the systems and IR procedures as well as the standardization of the training procedures are the focus of the practical training.

The training is divided into a theoretical (25h), a practical part (5h) if you are already flight instructor FI (A) to EASA-FCL. If you do not have an instructor's license for FI (A), a total of 50h theory and 10h practice are required.
Requirements
The applicant must be holder of a PPL(A), CPL(A) or ATPL(A). Applicants of the IRI(A), not FI(A) holder require a minimum of 800h IR flight experience, with min. 400h flown on airplanes.

Course language: German or Englisch
 
Theoretical Training
25h classroom instruction in the following subjects:

Phyisiology
Flight control Instruments
Radio Navigation
Aspects of flight planning / aeronautical publications
Flight planning (general)
Rights of a IR holder
Additional 25h groundcourse with the subject area of “teaching skills“ and „learning behaviour of students“.

The 25h groundcourse „teaching skills“ and „learning behaviour of students“ are not necessary for holders of a FI(A), CRI(A), TRI(A), SFI(A), STI(A), MCCI(H), FI(H), TRI(H), SFI(H) license.
Practical Training
A minimum of 10h for non IRI(A) holders on aircraft/ FNPT II MCC. For a holder of an FI(A) rating 5 hours can be credited. It can be chosen between classic and glass cockpit.

High End Glascockpit Simulator
For training on ground a King Air 200 GT Simulator – (FNPT II MCC newest generation) is available . Equipped with Collins Proline 21 glass cockpit, FMS, EGPWS and TCAS II together with many other modern systems which are standard in aviation today.

Exam
In general the exam takes place in our facility and contain a verbal theoretical test and a practical check flight.
