MOUNTAINS FLYING

COURSE APPROVAL
Approved by Vantage Aviation Limited or by the CAA.
TARGET POPULATION
General aviation and government organizations.
PREREQUISITES
Qualified, current and experienced helicopter pilot with spare capacity. Holding an in date medical examination.
English spoken and written skills at least ICAO Level 4.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The applicant will gain the skills and confidence desired to fly in mountainous areas.
GROUND TRAINING
Varies, typically 1 day
FLIGHT TRAINING
Varies, typically 1 to 3 days
TRAINING SEQUENCE
The course can be conducted in the UK or USA or using the client’s own aircraft.
COURSE COMPLETION
On completion the students will be issued a certificate approved by Vantage Aviation.
COURSE CONTENT
Because of the more demanding nature of mountain flying, you should carefully consider your experience and background before beginning a flight into mountainous terrain.

First, it is essential that you consider attending a recognized mountain flying course to give you the knowledge and skills you will need to be safe.  Mountain flying in many areas will stretch your abilities to fly proficiently, navigate, and deal with weather.
